Bianca is known for her warmth, authenticity, and genuine compassion for those navigating life’s challenges. She works with children, families, couples, and adults using a strength-based approach rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration.

She brings particular expertise in working with children, drawing on both clinical training and hands-on experience to support emotional development, behavioral concerns, and family dynamics. Bianca has received focused training in play therapy and child-centered approaches, and she’s passionate about helping young clients express themselves, build resilience, and thrive.

She also has experience supporting clients facing depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and major life transitions. Bianca primarily practices from an Adlerian perspective and integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), both of which emphasize connection, meaning, and personal growth. She tailors her approach to honor each individual’s unique story, values, and goals.

As a Graduate Intern at Anchor of Hope Counseling, Bianca is currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas, where she also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. As part of her clinical training, she completed her practicum at the UNT Counseling and Human Development Clinic, providing individual counseling to university students.

She has completed specialized coursework in couples, family, group, and play therapy. Prior to her graduate training, Bianca spent over three years at Denton County MHMR, where she provided crisis assessments and facilitated psychoeducational groups for individuals in acute distress—experiences that shaped her compassionate and grounded therapeutic style.

Bianca is fluent in Spanish and strives to offer inclusive, culturally responsive care. As an LGBTQ+ ally, she is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where clients of all identities feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their counseling journey.

Outside of her work with clients, you’ll find Bianca exploring local record shops, walking with her bernedoodle Moose, or curating her ever-growing vinyl collection—always in search of the perfect blend of new discoveries and nostalgic favorites.

Bianca practices under the supervision of Dr. Bianca Mickan, PhD, LPC-S.
